GGACC Women's Group Event - Spey Casting

Sunday, November 8 from 12 to 4 PM, join us for an Introduction to Spey Casting with Cheryl O'Neil and Mike Healy.

Cheryl is a Fly Fishers International Certified Casting Instructor and is an instructor many of you may know from the Second Saturday casting lessons.

Join Cheryl for an introduction to the basics of Spey casting. This beginner-friendly session will cover the fundamentals of Spey casting, including rod setup, basic casting techniques, anchor placement, and line management. You’ll learn how to form a D-loop, make a simple Spey cast, and understand how these techniques can help you efficiently cast a fly line with limited room for a traditional back cast.

The session will take place in the ponds. No previous Spey casting experience is necessary.

Loaner rods will be available. If you need loaner waders and boots for the event, please reach out to us at women.ggacc@gmail.com

There is no cost to participate, and the program is open to both GGACC members and non-members. Registration is requested so that we can ensure we have enough rods and equipment available for everyone.
