GGACC's Spey Improver Program's next class, on the American River, is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2019, starting at 8:30 AM. Registration fee is $50.
The Spey Improver Program is a one-day class directed at those GGACC members who have taken the GGACC Spey Angler Program's class in the past, or who have experience fishing with a two-handed rod. Class size is limited to 6 current club members.
Items covered will include Single Spey and Snake Roll casts with Skagit, Scandi, and Long Belly lines. We will also focus on non-dominate hand casting.
Spey Improver Program classes will be held on the American River (conditions permitting). Students will be notified of the access point several days before the class. Students should have Skagit and Scandi heads, tips (floating, intermediate and fast sinking) as well as a 12' tapered steelhead/salmon leader. Please, yarn flies only! Students should bring waders, boots, wading staff and belt, eye protection, sunscreen, hat, raingear, lunch and a folding chair. Be ready to start (in the water) at 8:30AM.
Your instructors will be Bill Gallogly, Bob Pauli, Steve Morikawa and Willy George.
Registration: Effective November 15, 2018, all registration for the 2019 Spey Improver classes will be accomplished ONLINE Only on the GGACC website's Events Calendar. Registration (and participation) requires current GGACC membership and online payment of a $50 fee either by credit card or Paypal. You may sign-up when a large "Register" button shows next to this calendar event description. If the class is already full, you will have the option of joining the wait list. Any cancellations will be filled from the waitlist.
Cancellation: If you have to cancel prior to 30 days from the class, your fee will be refunded. Cancellation inside the 30 day window which causes the class size to drop below 4 students (minimum class size) will result in fee forfeiture.
