This Rondy is an excellent opportunity to explore the famous Pit River. It is renowned for lots of big fish and difficult wading. We will concentrate on the river just below Lake Britton Dam (Pit 3), but we may see areas down to Big Bend (Pit 4 & 5).

Reasonable care, a wading staff, and studded boots will make this a memorable experience. This is an opportunity to catch lots of Rainbow Trout in the range of 12-18 inches -- and possibly even bigger.

There are many options:  Nymphing is the "go to" technique throughout the day; there are dry fly opportunities in the evening; and you can always throw a streamer in the bigger pools.

Gear required:  5 wt fly rod, 4-5x tippets, dry flies, nymphs and streamers, as well as waders, studded boots, and wading staff.  Be sure to wear one or two tight wading belts since wading on the Pit can be rather challenging due to strong flows over vegetation-covered rocks.

Good fly fishing skills and some experience wading technical waters are needed.  This Rondy is for experienced anglers ONLY and is NOT for current participants in the Learn to Fly Fish Program or other beginners.

We will camp Friday and Saturday nights at the McArthur Burney campgrounds.

There will a non-refundable $25 Rondy fee. Other costs will include the campground fee, food, and travel expenses.

There will be a pre-meeting to discuss the Rondy, including logistics and gear -- date tbd.

Ryan Stahl will be leading this Rondy. For more information contact him at:  ryan.w.stahl@gmail.com
