Spey-O-Rama

The Jimmy Green SPEY-O-RAMA,
The World Championship of Spey Casting


The Golden Gate Angling and Casting club is pleased to announce the upcoming 12th anniversary of the Jimmy Green Spey-O-Rama World Championship April 17th, 18th, and 19th, 2015 at the world renowned casting ponds located in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. GGACC is devoted to introducing everyone to fly casting and angling at their historical club and facility.

The event is open to the public and admittance is free. Meals are available to the general public at the club for a nominal fee on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Dinner is available on Saturday. Meals are complimentary to pre-registered exhibitors, demonstrators and competitors.

There will be a $100 registration fee for each competitor of the spey competitions.

Local and International casting masters will be offering free demonstrations and clinics each day. We will also feature spey casting with both two-hand and single hand rods, and presentations on fly fishing destinations.

Premium Fly-Fishing rod and reel manufacturers will have their products available for you to try out at the casting ponds. The world’s best casters will participate in the Spey Casting Competitions on Saturday and Sunday.

The schedule for the Spey-O-Rama 2015 is:

Friday, April 17th:
7:30am: Breakfast free to competitors, $5 for everyone else 
9:00am: Exhibitors will begin setting up by the West Pond 
8:00am- 2:00pm: Registration and sign in for all competitors 
10:15am: Competitors meeting with Head Judge Glen Nagumo on the front lawn 
Ponds: All ponds are open for practice commencing at 9:00am. A "roped off" portion of the West Pond is restricted for use by exhibitors.

Saturday, April 18th:
7:30am: Breakfast free to competitors, $5 for everyone else 
8:45am: Competitors meeting with Head Judge Glen Nagumo on the front lawn 
9:00am - 4:00pm: Exhibitors displaying and demonstrating equipment by the West Pond 
9:00am - 1:00pm: Spey Casting Competition qualifying rounds
10:00am: Silent Auction opens. The Silent Auction table will be located by the Northwest corner of the West Pond 
12:30pm - 1:30pm: Lunch Sponsored by Snake River Outfitters is free to competitors, $5 for everyone else. 
1:30pm-4:00pm: Center Pond - Technical Presentations 
3:00pm: Presentation "Spey Fishing Around the World" by Ken Morrish in the Lodge 
4:30pm: Competitors "feedback" meeting with SOR Chair and Head Judge 
6:30pm: Dinner, sponsored by Temple Fork Outfitters is free to competitors, $25 for everyone else.

Sunday, April 19th:
7:30am: Breakfast free to competitors, $5 for everyone else 
8:45am: Competitors meeting with Head Judge Glen Nagumo 
9:00am: Introduction of competitors by Master of Ceremonies 
9:15am-12:00pm: International Spey Casting Championship Finals.  
12:00pm: Awards Ceremony 
1:00pm: Silent Auction closes 
Lunch: Sponsored by Lost Coast Outfitters,  will be served immediately following the Awards Ceremony. Free to competitors, $5 for everyone else.
