LTFF Step 3 Intermediate - Trinity Steelhead Fish-Out, Day 2- CLOSED

  • 27 Nov 2016
  • 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Weaverville, CA

Registration

This Learn to Fly Fish (LTFF) program fish-out is currently CLOSED to all other registration. No further Intermediate class registrations allowed without the specific approval of the LTFF program director John Murphy (jmurphy7599@gmail.com)

Cost: $240.00, includes shuttle service cost but NOT guide gratuity, lodging, meals (other than lunch), or travel costs.

Approved participants shall register online for that date (Day 1 = 11/26, Day 2 = 11/27) that they have previously requested and acknowledged their interest in.

We will meet our Confluence Outfitters' guides each morning in front of Tops Supermarket in Weaverville (located behind the Burger King).  Check the weather before leaving home and pack accordingly, including rain gear and proper layering to adjust for temp changes during the day.  In addition to a lunch and non-alcoholic beverages, our guides will provide fly rods, rigging, and flies, but you may bring your own rod if you prefer (or bring it as back-up in case you are not comfortable with the guide's rod).  Rods should be 6wt-8wt, 9' or longer.

Gear list (other than fishing gear):

Waders and boots (recommend studded felt); rain jacket; hat; gloves; wading staff; spare set of clothes in a dry bag; phone; polarized sunglasses; headlamp; sunscreen and/or buff; 2016 Fishing License & Steelhead Card; area map or atlas.

Participants will be assigned to guides based on whether they indicated that they wished to nymph (indicator) or swing (one or two-handed).

Suggestions for dinners include Indian Creek Lodge Cafe (on CA299 approx. 8 mi EAST of Weaverville) and The Grange Restaurant in the historic center of town (reopened recently under new mgt.).  Let John know your wishes ASAP since we may need to get a reservation beforehand.

Since this destination is more than an hour from Redding, it is strongly suggested that you arrive the night before and spend the another night in the area before driving home.
