THIS WORKSHOP IS FILLED AND REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED. See Workshop #6 beginning in January for next available openings.
The Anglers Lodge is reserved for this event on this evening, including BOTH the meeting room and locker room.
This is the 1st of (6) Thursday night sessions for this Rod Building Workshop #4, taught by Larry Kenney.
There are currently three separate classes (Workshops #4, 5, and 6) posted on the club calendar, but each workshop is offered on a different set of nights or dates. The registrants for this Workshop #4 may NOT attend any sessions of either of the other two workshops unless pre-registered for that workshop. Note: There will be NO class on Thursday, Nov. 24 (Thanksgiving) while components are sourced.
Learn to build a fly rod by doing it.
Participants will be taken through everything from choosing and purchasing a blank and components to installing reel seats, making cork grips, wrapping guides and finishing guide wraps. There is no fee for this class, but the participants are responsible for acquiring their own blanks, components, and a few simple tools -- which will be discussed in the first class.
This Nov.-Dec., 2016 Workshop #4 is limited to 6 club members via online registration only. Register on this first class session only for all 6 sessions of Workshop #4.
If there is no large Register button showing on the left side of this screen now, the class has filled. However, you may wish to sign the online Wait List since any drop-outs before the first session will be replaced from this list in the order that they signed it. Also, if not later admitted to this class, those who are wait-listed may be given an advance email notice of the next offered class. The Wait List will only be generated when the registration closes because the class has filled.
Class dates and the expected subjects to be covered and the corresponding class activity in each session are:
Nov. 17 - Introduction -- Choosing the right blank and components
Dec. 1 - Assembling components -- Reel seats/Cork
Dec 8 - Making the grip -- Cork/Turn
Dec.15 - Rod wrapping -- Wrap
Dec. 22 - Rod wrapping --Wrap/Coat
Dec. 29 - Finishing -- Coat
