The 2017 Spey-O-Rama results are in! Congratulations to all who competed.
The 2017 Jimmy Green Spey-O-Rama, the world championship of Spey casting, was held at the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club (GGACC) on April 22-23, 2017.
An all-time record of 50 competitors participated from nine countries including Japan, South Korea, Russia, Canada, US, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and Norway.
Oregon's Travis Johnson won the overall men's title with a four-cast total of 711 feet. Ireland's Gerard Downey was runner up and delivered the competion's longest cast of 190 feet. BC's Tim Arsenault finished 3rd.
Whitney Gould won her fifth Spey-O-Rama women's title with in style, setting all-time Spey-O-Rama records for long cast (150 feet) and four-cast total (559 feet). BC's Kara Knight was runner up for the third consecutive year. Three-time winner Donna O'Sullivan placed third.
Idaho's Lee Davison won his second men's senior title with a longest cast of 152 feet and four-cast total of 580 feet. San Jose's Glen Nagumo was runner up. Japan's Nubuo Nodera placed third.
